173rd Sidewalk Petition

In Northeast Bellevue, 173rd Avenue NE is a main artery in our neighborhood. Yet much of our neighborhood lacks sidewalks leading to cars, buses, emergency vehicles, and pedestrians often sharing the road and leading to unsafe conditions, particularly with all-too-common speeding vehicles.

The need for sidewalks in the area has been identified by the city of Bellevue's Neighborhood Sidewalk Program . Currently, 173rd Avenue NE has been prioritized in the top 30 or so sidewalk projects. Only 1 or 2 sidewalk projects are selected each year. Unless this project is reprioritized, we are likely many years away from seeing functioning sidewalks in our neighborhood.

Specific project: Connect existing sidewalks along the east side of 173rd Avenue NE from Northup to 19th.

The goal of this website is to bring neighbors together to volunteer, sign a petition, engage with city council members, determine funding options, etc. to have this sidewalk project reprioritized. This may include participating in the Neighborhood Enhancement Program (NEP) that begins in NE Bellevue on April 3rd.
